Fleeing!
Fleeing… implies danger, it means escape for your life. But who & what am I feeling from? Am I fleeing from God’s overwhelming and imposing presence or am I fleeing the world and everything it has to offer. Jonah tried to flee from God, thinking that he would find peace away from God, and Joseph left his garment and fled away from sin. In both cases, I am fleeing for my life, it’s a matter of life and death, I am either fleeing from God because I am afraid of ultimately losing control and yielding my life to an unseen God, or I am fleeing from the world that can drown me in its pleasures and lusts. David the prophet says in Psalm 139 “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” Truly we cannot escape from God’s immense and compelling pursuit of love, in fact, we ought to flee to Him as a child flees to His father when in danger.
